THE IMPORTANCE OF A BALANCED PH
pH imbalances are not well tolerated by the body and have profound effects on all aspects of
health and disease. pH stands for potential of hydrogen. The degree of hydrogen concentration
in metabolic waste is the degree of acidity in the body. Your body functions best in an alkaline
state of 7.4 to 7.46. At this pH the blood is able to transport optimal amounts of oxygen and
carry off most of the metabolic waste. Although, when testing urine and saliva, a pH of 6.4 is best.
Available energy for your body is in exact proportion to the amount of alkaline and acid forming chemicals
internally present in fluids at the cellular level. An alkaline forming substance produces increased energy,
and an acid forming substance produces a decreased ability to energize.
Ingested substances, along with physical and emotional stress, affect the body and leave
either an alkaline or acid ash residue. To help understand the concept of ash residue; The ash
is what's left after a log has been burned, and the heat has been enjoyed or used for energy.
After food is metabolized, it leaves ash residue also known as metabolic waste. Your body used
what it needed, and now it is time to take the trash out. We all know what garbage is like,
it gets rotten in a hurry! Certain foods leave more acid waste or residue than others. High
protein foods such as meats, poultry, fish, fried and processed foods, dairy and grains are

and the inability to maintain proper weight have been linked to acidosis. If left unchecked
an imbalanced pH will interrupt all cellular activity.
